Through my years, I have stepped into many congregations from California, Texas, Kentucky and Tennessee. I knew there was more than your weekly Sunday service, so I pursued more of God. The first time I attended a Bible study with Pastor Samantha teaching, I knew I couldn’t miss any of her sermons, especially the School of Prophecy. It is hard to convey the presence of God that reigned over these sessions. It resonated in me that the message of prophetic worship paves the way for God to work. My prayer time is amplified when I’m sitting and soaking in intercessory worship. It is a part of who I am and how I experience God.Not only is it important to learn about the prophetic but to exercise it. I always had a never ending fear of public prayer since I would be surrounded by intercessors, then there is little ol’ me. It was crippling especially when we would be working on the prophetic as we would pray for someone we did not know. I would fall short then feel awful because the fear was so overwhelming. I blocked anything out. When Samantha spoke, it was truly a judgment free zone. I was nervous at first, but I jumped into it because it felt like a genuinely safe place. It was a little bumpy at first, but when we switched to another person… boy did God show up! I felt a small burning sensation in my lower back. I didn’t know what it was. As the lady shared what she received for me, the intensity of the burning increased as time passed. I asked if she had lower back issues which she did. What she saw: my hands were extremely large. At first we were both confused then the light bulb clicked; I asked if I could lay my hands on her lower back and pray. She said she could feel the fire radiating from my hands into her back. As I prayed, the burning slowly dissipated from my lower back. It was in that moment where I felt a renewal of my faith. It was a hope restored which had been lost for some time.Another amazing revelation was during the reading of the Psalms exercise. We were to read the verses from Psalms as if God was delivering the words Himself. I was asked to go first, so I had no clue how it would go, but it came naturally. It was as if God was taking a key and unlocking the start of my prophetic ministry with that simple reading. Ever since that night, I have witnessed an authority when I read Psalms. From these readings, it has encouraged more boldness in my prayers. It has transitioned into my work department as we now corporately pray in the mornings for each other and for God to orchestrate His will in the workplace. Lastly, Samantha gave us seed prayers as a foundation for moving in the prophetic. We declared and decreed them with authority in the Spirit. I asked her if she could email the seed prayers. Ever since I have received these scriptures, I pick one at night and continue to repeat it until I fall asleep. It has transformed my sleep patterns drastically. Before I would not sleep very well, but now I’m receiving some of the best sleep of my life. I definitely notice a difference when I do not recite the scriptures.It is the small steps towards moving in the things of God. If I had not attended the school, I would not be where I am to this day with a renewed spirit. I would not get to see God move as He is at my work, immediately answering our prayers for reform. I look forward to what God has in store.
